A woman was on Tuesday arrested and charged with possession of protected wildlife after she was caught in possession of 13 species of wild birds without permission. The authorities were acting on a tip-off, Mr Sathit said, adding that she had now been handed over to Wan Yai police. Meanwhile, an injured serow was rescued in Tha Sae district of Chumphon on Tuesday. The wounded animal was found lying on a bridge, said veterinarian Phichai Phokrasang. In Chachoengsao's Tha Takiap district, a baby elephant was found dead near a pond in a rubber plantation on Monday evening.
